This monastery was begun with the intention of rendering spiritual service to the Christians migrating to high ranges. Rev. Fr. Augustus Thekkanath was its first superior. The missionary endeavours of Rev. Fr. Pius Vallooran and Rev. Fr. Jose Vettukallumpuram can not but be remembered with gratitude. In May 1992, the Silver Jubliee of St. George Church at Calvary Mount was celebrated with due solemnity. The monastery was renovated in 1993 and blessed on 3rd, July on the feast day of St. Thomas. This monastery can rightly be regarded as the epicentre of all the developments of this village. A parish with a strength of nearly 500 families is the main apostolic activity of the house. Calvary K.G., L.P., U.P. and High Schools under the management of this monastery render a great service to the society.

CARMEL NOVITIATE HOUSE (Estd. 1998) Carmel Novitiate House Neriamangalam P.O., Kothamangalam - 686 693 Ph: 0485-2554304, 2554509 (P)
Carmel Province purchased a beautiful plot of land on the banks of Periyar river at Neriamangalam on the northern side of Neriamangalam Neendapara Road in October 1992. The foundation stone for the Novitiate House was blessed and laid by Rev. Fr. Mathew Bassus Manjakunnel, the then Regional Superior, on 3rd July, 1993. The construction work of the Novitiate House was efficiently supervised by James Thennana and the administrative wing of the Novitiate was formally opened for use by 1995. The construction of Novitiate wing was completed under the supervision of Fr. John Anikottil. First batch of Novitiate began on 11th June 1998. A new chapel for the novitiate house was built by the efforts of Fr. John Gallus Cheruparambil and was formally blessed By Bp. Mar Mani Giles Pothanamuzhi on 16th Oct., 2002. |

DEEPTHI BHAVAN, (Estd. 1993) Deepthi Bhavan Deepthi Nagar, Adimaly P.O. Idukki District - 685 561 Ph: 04864-222306
Carmel Province acquired a plot of about 8 acres on the western side of Aluva-Munnar Road in July 1993. It was officially declared as a house and formally inaugurated in 1993. Fr. Varghese Kuzhikanniyil was the first superior of this house. Fr. George Kallungakudy, the next superior supervised the construction of the first phase of Viswadeepthi Public School. The construction of a Residence, which began in the early part of 1997 was completed and formally blessed in 1998. Viswadeepthi Public School which started functioning in the academic year 1992-93 in a humble way with 75 students and two teachers in Chattupara was shifted to new building at Adimaly In June 1996. In the same year Viswadeepthi got the recognition from the CBSE, New Delhi, upto plus II level.

JYOTHI NIVAS (Estd. 1984) Jyothi Super Bazaar Thodupuzha - 685 584 Ph: 0486-222969
Jyothi Nivas, started in 1986 and situated in the heart of Thodupuzha town, in the Jyothi Super Bazaar Complex, is of immense help to the faithful around and those who visit the town for spiritual assistance especially for receiving the sacraments of reconciliation and Eucharist. It was a dependent house under Carmel monastery and became an independent one on 25th April, 2000. The chapel is regularly used by various prayer groups. The house offers warm welcome to the members visiting the town. Under the inspiration of Fr. Albert Nambiaparambil, Upasana, a religio-socio-cultural centre began to function here from 1985. Upasana stands for the integration of various cultural, literary and spiritual trends in a pluralistic society. Nadopasana which began on 16th July, 1986 aims at imparting scientific training in classical, instrumental and choral music. Under the able and charismatic leadership of Fr. Antony Urulianickal Nadopasana made deep impact in Kerala church. Janatha Book Stall was started in 1985. It was recently renovated by the pains taking efforts of Fr. Kurian Puthenpurackal.
